Jones Kwesi Tagbor was elected in August 2020 as the National Divisional Representative for the Para/Lay and Associate Division of the Ghana Psychological Association (GPA). He currently serves as a Senior Administrative Manager with the Ghana Health Service and is a National Executive Committee Member of the Prison Ministry of the Church of Pentecost.
Jones holds an MPhil in Clinical Psychology from the University of Ghana and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast, both in Ghana. He is also a trained PsychCorps Ghana alumnus, holding a certificate in Community Counselling.
His research interests are centred on psychosocial issues in the aftermath of disaster and trauma, and he is an active advocate against drug abuse. Beyond his clinical and administrative roles, Jones is a prolific writer and the author of the Jones Series Publications, a collection of novels that speak to his creative depth and communicative reach.
He is also the Founder of FirstCare Ghana, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to mental health advocacy and support — a testament to his commitment to expanding community-level mental health services across Ghana.
